Race Day

Eldora is a half-mile dirt track in Rossburg, Ohio.  It is currently owned by the Indiana Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart.  He Purchased the track in 2004 from Earl Baltes who was the sole owner since 1954 when he opened the track.

Tonight we will experience for the first time racing at "The Big E"  We will get to see the track were the legends have raced over the years.

We arrived in plenty of time to do a meet and greet with the drivers and check out some of the   Sprint cars.
You were allowed to get into this winged sprint car.  I have said in previous blogs that I wish you could put videos on here. At this moment I am very glad you can not post videos. This is not a pretty vehicle to climb in and out of. Now I know why I was the only adult in line to try this out! 🙃
Those children climbing in and out of this made it look really easy.

After finally finagling my way out of the car I had worked up a bit of a thirst so we decided to go and try the infamous Eldora Toilet water! I was not mad at it. I loved the garnish of the tootsie roll turd. That made it a very elegant cocktail.
